Daylight Savings Time begins at 2 AM. this Sunday March 13th, 2016. This means the daylight will begin later in the morning as we set our clocks ahead one hour and the sun will set later in the day. Iqama timings at Masjid Ibrahim will move forward an hour starting with Fajr Prayer on Sunday morning.

Islamic Society of Delaware is sponsoring a Six Hours Basic Defensive Driving Class on March 26, 2016 between 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM. This Class can be taken for Basic or Advanced certificate and is limited to the first 25 paid participants.

Cost is $20.00, AARP Members Pay $15
Class starts promptly!

Registration Deadline: Wednesday March 23, 2016
You must pay by the registration deadline to attend the class

One Jummah Prayers This Friday at Masjid Ibrahim PDF Print E-mail

Jummah Khutbah Delivered by Sheikh Yasir Qadhi
Friday March 4 at 1:15 PM


There will be only one Jummah Prayers held at Masjid Ibrahim this Friday, March 4th.
Visiting Scholar Sheikh Yasir Qadhi will deliver the Jummah Khutbah at 1:15 PM. We are expecting a large congregation to attend the Friday Prayers and request everyone to be mindful of the traffic and parking situation. We request community members to arrive early and park at the authorized parking lots to ease traffic congestion. In addition to German Club parking, ISD has made parking arrangements for Fridays with Newark United Pentecostal Church and Journey Church. Both of these churches are only few minutes walk from the Masjid.

Journey Church: 721 E Chestnut Hill Rd, Newark DE

Please be aware of the following parking rules.

  • Please do not park at the business parking across the Masjid
  • Do not park on the grass or in the fire lane any where
  • Do not block neighbor's driveway or mailbox
  • Follow directions from the Traffic Cop when crossing street
  • Do not make left turn from any of the parking lot to the street
  • Illegal parked cars will be towed at owners expense

The Islamic Society of Delaware presents a special program on Friday, March 4th, 2016. World renowned Islamic scholar Sheikh Yasir Qadhi will be the guest speaker discussing the Role of Muslims in the Current Wave of Tribulations.

The program will be held at the Christiana High School Auditorium at 6:00 PM. Please bring your family,friends, and coworkers for this important event.

ShYasirQadhi2 Sheikh Yasir Qadhi, PhD, is the Dean of Academic Affairs at AlMaghrib Institute. He is one of the few people who has combined a traditional Eastern Islamic seminary education with a Western academic training of the study of Islam.

Sheikh Yasir graduated with a B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Houston, after which he was accepted as a student at the Islamic University of Madinah. After completing a diploma in Arabic, he graduated with a B.A. from the College of Hadith and Islamic Sciences, and then completed a M.A. in Islamic Theology from the College of Dawah. He then returned to America, and completed a PhD in Religious Studies from Yale University. He has authored several books, published academic articles, and appeared on numerous satellite and TV stations around the globe. His online videos are of the most popular and highly-watched Islamic videos in English.

Sheikh Yasir Qadhi is a resident Scholar of the Memphis Islamic Center. He is also a professor at Rhodes College, in the Department of Religious Studies.

New Friday Prayer Timings at Masjid Ibrahim
Starting Friday February 19

1st Jumah
Khutbah: 1:15 PM
Iqamah: 1:45 PM
2nd Jumah
Khutbah: 2:20 PM
Iqamah: 2:50 PM




The Friday Prayer timings will change effective Friday February 19. We request community members to actively participate in the 2nd Prayers and help ease the traffic and congestion on Salem Church Rd. We advise everyone to move your cars quickly from the Masjid and German Club parking after the 1st Prayers and make room for the brothers and sisters for the 2nd Prayers.
