Islam and Peace: An Interfaith Dialogue
Peace Week Event at ISD
Sunday September 23rd at 3:00 PM

From September 15–23, 2018, peace-loving folks across Delaware will celebrate Peace Week Delaware—a statewide series of events and actions raising awareness and hope for peace in our communities, nation, and the world.

This year, ISD Interfaith Committee will be hosting an interfaith dialogue on 'Islam and Peace' on Sunday, September 23rd from 3PM - 5PM.
In addition to this event, ISD will also be participating in the following three Peace Events:
1) Integrating Refugees in the community

Thanksgiving Basket Making at Congregation Beth Emeth

On Sunday, November 19, several members of ISD Interfaith Committee joined 70 others from different faith and helped make 150 food baskets during Thanksgiving Basket Making Event at Beth Emeth congregation. ISD sponsored 15 baskets and the Sunday school community also brought in canned foods and other goods for additional baskets.

Interfaith Thanksgiving Food Drive - November 17th-20th

Islamic Society of Delaware has joined local Churches this holiday season to help provide food baskets to needy. Please help us as we give back to our community this Thanksgiving.

Please drop off needed items at ISD Friday to Monday (November 17-20).

ISD Condemns the Shooting tack in Texas

Islamic Society of Delaware offers its heartfelt condolences to the families and loved ones of all those killed or injured in the monstrous attack at the First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs, Texas.

No religious tradition can ever justify nor condone such ruthless and senseless acts of violence. We stand with the victims of this senseless act of violence and mourn with the families of the victims and pray for their ease and comfort during this time of difficulty.

ISD's Official Statement Regarding Manhattan Attack

Dear Community and fellow Americans,

We, at the Islamic Society of Delaware, strongly condemn the recent act of terrorism perpetrated in New York City. This act of cowardice and bigotry has no place in Islam. Our hearts go out to the innocent victims and their families.

Operation Fill That Truck For Texas

Hurricane Harvey Relief Effort - October 6-18 at ISD

Islamic Society of Delaware is asking for your support for the Delaware statewide relief campaign “Fill That Truck For Texas“ to provide supplies to the many suffering in the wake of hurricane Harvey in Texas. ISD is working with the local faith based and community organizations to provide necessary items needed in this time of recovery. This is a wonderful opportunity for our community to show its support for those who have lost so much in Texas. Please help us in filling up the truck, you can donate the needed supplies listed here. We will be collecting needed items through October 18.


Interfaith Silent Solidarity March

The ISD Interfaith committee would like to invite the community to participate in a planned "Silent Solidarity” March for Unity, Justice, and Equal Rights on Sunday, December 18th beginning at 2 p.m. on the side yard of Newark United Methodist Church, 69 E. Main Street, Newark, DE 19711.

The march will be held; Rain, Snow, or Shine!!
